Bottom Line: While, the Airsacker doesn’t revolutionize the inflatable lounger
industry, it is a high quality, comfortable lounger that looks great at a reasonable price. If I could do it all over again, I would have bought the Airsacker over the [easyazon_link identifier=”B01DTLR8T2″ locale=”US” tag=”backyardmov05-20″]Woohoo[/easyazon_link].
If you aren’t sure what I am talking about when I refer to inflatable loungers, please read my Woohoo review here.
Matt from Lazybagger.com visited the site and after a few emails, I offered to do a fair review of the Airsacker.
First things first, the team at Lazybagger was super quick to get the lounger in the mail and it arrived in just a few days. So they get high marks for shipping from me.
The lounger comes in a storage bag, with an anchor (plastic stake), and instruction sheet. One of the best things that Airsacker has going for it is the variety of colors and patterns that it comes in. At last check there were 11 different patterns and colors available. I got the “Surf’s Up”, which looks like a bright blue aloha shirt. My wife loved it…my wife raved about it…my wife couldn’t be happier with the pattern. The material is a high quality rip stop fabric, which in spite of its durability, still felt great on the skin. The internal liner was a high quality plastic that separated easily even on the first use, it felt more robust than the liner on the [easyazon_link identifier=”B01DTLR8T2″ locale=”US” tag=”backyardmov05-20″]Woohoo[/easyazon_link]. My daughter also commented on the lack of any kind of unpleasant plastic smell straight out of the bag, this was another nice feature.
Tip: When using the lounger for the first time, push a little air through it to unstick the liner before attempting to fully inflate it. This makes it easier for the air to get in.
Inflatable loungers are more difficult to inflate then the kickstarter and facebook videos might let on. The Airsacker is no exception to this, if you don’t have a good stiff breeze, prepare for things to get a little awkward looking. My beach is pretty breezy, so inflating the loungers is
easier, in my backyard…not so much. As the weather gets cooler on the mainland, I think more people will be using these in front of the TV, and I have read reviews of people using their air conditioning vents to fill the air bladders. My tip to you people with central air!
The clip at the end is a little different from the [easyazon_link identifier=”B01DTLR8T2″ locale=”US” tag=”backyardmov05-20″]Woohoo[/easyazon_link], it has a small mechanism to keep the clip from being undone. I am not sure how a traditional clip would come undone accidentally, but I can’t fault the designers for overbuilding a bit.
The lounger has two pockets that are perfect for a phone, e-reader, magazine, etc. There is a loop to anchor the lounger near the head, but even on our breezy beach, I haven’t found much of a need to anchor my lounger.
The Airsacker was very comfortable. On the maiden voyage, my daughter climbed in with
me and she squirms around a lot. As should be expected, quite a bit of air leaked out, but I was still comfortably off the ground. I refilled the lounger and spent half an hour by myself soaking up the sun, breeze, and really enjoying the Airsacker without any indication that it was losing a lot of air. The key to these loungers is to stay still. I read a few reviews that complained of a crinkling sound from the liner, but I didn’t have that issue. There is a plastic liner underneath the fabric, so if you get too hot and there isn’t a breeze, you will sweat, I believe this is a fact for all of the inflatable loungers.
Putting the Airsacker away was a lot easier than storing the[easyazon_link identifier=”B01DTLR8T2″ locale=”US” tag=”backyardmov05-20″]Woohoo[/easyazon_link], even
though the storage bags are approximately the same size. The opening on the Airsacker storage bag is far wider, so it is easier to get the lounger back inside.
Tip: To deflate, unclip the end, and begin rolling the lounger from the headrest to the foot and around the brim. Reclip the end and insert it into the storage bag.
While my experience with inflatable loungers has been fairly limited, I happily endorse the Airsacker. It is an improvement over the [easyazon_link identifier=”B01DTLR8T2″ locale=”US” tag=”backyardmov05-20″]Woohoo[/easyazon_link] best that I can tell. If you are in the market for an inflatable lounger, I think the Airsacker offers a good value at a good price.
