We rented beach cabins with another family that has several kids. I wanted to bring a toy that would allow them to take advantage of all of the space of the beach without taking up a ton of room in my luggage. These Rocket Copters ended up being the perfect solution!

As the dart falls to the ground, the blades open s lowing it’s decent and causing it to spin, resulting in a cool little light show.
Construction: Despite being pretty lightweight, the rocket copters are surprisingly well built and put up with quite a bit of abuse. The girls’ favorite game was to have the adults fire the rocket copter in the air, while the kids tried to catch it on the decent. The Rocket Copters will go up high enough to give the kids plenty of time to get under it. We did have one Rocket Copter that had a bad light that didn’t want to stay on. But for under 10 dollars I was pretty happy with what I got. We played with these for hours over 3 nights and other than the aforementioned LED problem with one, they were all going strong.
Recommendation:
When we got these I instantly thought that they would be perfect for an outdoor movie party, particularly when you have a group of high energy kids that are tired of waiting for it to get dark enough for the movie. These are fun no matter what time it is, but they are definitely bright enough to be enjoyed at dusk.
These are also a great toy for camping, because they pack down so small. I plan to bring them next time we go and I am sure we are going to have kids from all around come to check them out.

Caution: If you don’t pay attention to the way you load them, the band can snap back on you and it hurts, so maybe not ideal for the under 5 crowd. Also, everyone is going to be looking up, so if you have a lot of tripping hazards around the play area, chairs, blankets, cables, cords, etc. this probably isn’t the best activity for your yard.
