Overview:
The screen measures approximately 14’ on the diagonal, but the viewable area is only 10’ on the diagonal. The viewable area sits approximately 12” off the ground, which is relatively low. Being so low to the ground, this screen isn’t particularly conducive to large crowds, where audience members might block the screen.
The screen sits on a wide base so that it is very stable, this gives it an adventure over taller screens with a narrow base like the Gemmy Airblown Deluxe Screen that require guide lines and staking to stay stable.
The nice thing about the screen is that it allows both front and rear projection, which gives you more display options.
The screen comes with a blower and storage back that the screen’s frame can easily fit in.
Construction:
The Holiday Styling Screen is made of a heavy canvas material, that feels heavy duty, even if its weight isn’t too heavy. There is double stitching throughout and the stitching
appears to be clean and neat. The biggest concern I have is that some of the main bolsters are only single stitched instead of a solid piece of fabric.
The screen’s frame has ties in each corner for staking. The screen also has a large vent near the blower than can be used to help deflate the screen.
Setup:
The frame of the screen inflates in a matter of minutes. Depending on how you unpack the screen, it can be a little tangled getting the screen inflated.
The screen needs constant positive pressure to stay inflated, requiring an external blower to must stay on to make this happen. The blower isn’t particularly loud, but it isn’t particularly quiet either. The included blower provides a more than adequate amount of air pressure.
The actual screen velcros to the frame. The nice thing about this is that it allows you to remove the screen before deflating the frame, thereby helping you keep it clean. The screen material almost felt like you could put it in the washing machine if you needed to. The con is that velcroing the screen to the frame is kind of a pain and is best done with two people.
Pros:
Stable Setup
Front and Rear Projection
Removable Screen
Double Stitching
Durable Material
Cons:
Screen is difficult to attach
Screen sits low
Requires blower to constantly be on
Conclusion:
The screen is solidly constructed and offers you versatility in how you setup your outdoor theater. The detachable screen is a unique feature that I haven’t seen on similar screens. While its proximity to the ground doesn’t make it ideal for large crowds, it will be more than suitable for the audience most folks host in their backyard. You could do a lot worse than this screen, I believe it is built well enough to provide many years of enjoyment.
